The Puss in Boots franchise was a healthy but inactive social fandom due to an extended period of lack of content posting which led to a decrease in fan engagement. We needed to re-awaken this dormant fanbase and educate the mainstream that this was a whole new series available on Netflix that went beyond the first film and would be all new adventures with Puss In Boots.
Our goals were to highlight the humor and lovable nature that made Puss such a breakout hit, while promising what’s new and exciting in the new series within the Netflix format to excite current fans, attract new viewers and prime them all for the upcoming film release of Puss in Boots 2. We were able to reawaken the large but dormant fandom through strong strategic social initiatives and shareable content that focused on themes, quotes, and humor from the original property to build upon the existing audience while also introducing the show’s new characters, stories, and adventures.
